Introduction:

Besides China, India is one of the countries with the highest economic growth rates in the world. But the rapid growth has a dark side to it. About 800 million people – 70 percent of the population - still live on less than 2 Dollars a day. At the same time, the number of Indian billionaires has grown between 2006 and 2010 from 36 to 69. Suicide waves among peasants, huge corruption affairs, militant uprisings like the Maoist insurgency (Naxalites) and massive environmental degradation are shaking the country. In this show, we are going to look at the realties in today's India.
