Writer and author for print media, television, theatre and opera. He studied history and philosophy at the Free University of Berlin and theatre directing at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt/M. From 2003 to 2007 he worked as a dramturg and playwright for the GRIPS Theater Berlin. In 2009 he received the Otto Brenner Meda Award for Critical Journalism. In 2015 his book "Das Ende der Megamaschine. Geschichte einer scheiternden Zivilisation" ("The End of the Megamachine. A Brief History of a Failing Civilization") was published.

From 2005 to 2007 he worked as a free-lance foreign correspondent in Boston/USA. Previously he was a managing editor for "Deutsche Fernsehnachrichten Agentur".
